Bro. Lonnie is one of the Senior Pastors in our city having come to Shawnee in 1972. He has led the church to support over 80 missionary projects on a monthly basis and to purchase a beautiful 11-acre campus with a property value of over $6 million. Through the bus outreach and Christian school, the church has touched countless lives. Under his leadership the people have grown spiritually; and, we have seen over 200 precious souls saved and baptized each year with nearly 500 the last few years. His life verse of John 15:8 "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples," has become a reality in his life. He and his wife, Nancy, have four children who are serving the Lord. He has a Pastor's heart and cares about families and young people preparing to serve the Lord.

When the Lord began to give me and Nancy a burden for this greater Louisville, Kentuckiana area,
I never dreamed that we would be located in the heart of the city, just minutes from any part by interstate.

Having grown from an average attendance of 60 to averaging 1,000 in Sunday School, I am still amazed at God's hand of blessing on the ministry of Shawnee Baptist Church. In every service - Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening - we have folks attending regularly from over 30 different zip-code areas throughout this region.

The Lord has built here an old-fashioned, Bible-believing church with a vision to reach our Jerusalem (Kentuckiana) and the world. Our whole purpose is to carry out the great commission of our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our people say "the difference is worth the distance." Why not visit with us soon.
