 Excitement for 2010 Best Describes Shawnee Baptist Church
A new era in the Shawnee Story will begin December 3rd. These days hold mixed emotions for us at Shawnee Baptist as you can imagine, with our Pastor for 37 Years Bro. Lonnie Mattingly becoming Pastor Emeritus along with the title of President of Shawnee Baptist College, and Bro. Dave Delaney becoming our new Pastor over all the ministries.
The church voted Sunday night, November 8th to call Bro. Dave Delaney as our Pastor. Shawnee is truly a unique church and the unity has been a joy to see as we welcome this transition in leadership. God has blessed us in the past and we are looking forward to His blessings for the future. The excitement is sweeping our congregation as we look forward to the fresh moving of the Spirit among us.
Bro. Lonnie’s Farewell Service on Wednesday, December 2nd.
We are excited for Bro. Lonnie and Nancy as they come out from under the leadership role they have held for these many years. Many of our church members have never known another Pastor. We are glad they will have time to travel and promote our college and ministries. They are excited about becoming available to be in many of your churches. Contact Bro. They are truly excited about what is going to take place with the church and are going to be a part of it. Bro. Lonnie will be preaching his last sermon as Pastor of Shawnee Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 2nd. If you can join us it would be a joy to have you present. We want to let Bro. Lonnie know how much we love him and Nancy and how thankful we are that he has been our Pastor.
Welcome Bro. Dave Delaney and his family on Sunday, December 6th.
We are excited as a church for Bro. Dave becoming our Pastor and Amanda and the children are already dear to our church family. Sunday, December 6th will be his first sermon as Pastor of Shawnee Baptist Church. The freshness and enthusiasm is apparent in everything Bro.
